Dr.Kim is an amazing Surgeon , who’s seriously next level, AWESOME. I had a rare, Tarlov Cyst, with major symptoms that needed surgery. I was highly recommended to Dr. Kim who performs these types of surgeries. Not many Surgeons know how to perform this type of surgery and I was so grateful he was my Doctor! I was in excellent hands. I was scared when I met Dr. Kim for the first time. I was scared because I was becoming too crippled to walk, and I had found no doctor who could help me. Dr Kim understood my problem and I underwent surgery to repair a lumbar disc. I went from barely walking to hiking miles. I was 71, and I went from total despair to the joy of living for the future. I am very happy to have found Dr. Kim. I have always felt that he has had my best interest in mind. I had spent two years treating my back issues with strengthening and had not been successful. I did my homework and choose Dr. Kim because of his minimal non invasive approach. At the time of this review, I am three months out of surgery and no longer have the limitations that I had before.
Dr. Kim, his staff, and the experience at UC San Diego, East Campus, is truly a Center of Excellence. Nineteen years ago, I injured my back in a fall from a fire engine and have since lived with daily pain ranging from 4 to 10 on the pain scale. Dr. Kim performed a disc replacement on my cervical spine. I have been very pleased with the results. I highly recommend him.
Physically, my back was a mess. I was emotionally exhausted. I was scared of living the rest of my life in pain. The pain was horrible and despite years of injections and a prior discectomy, I couldn’t get better.
