Even before I brought my kids here my hygienist Shondra gave me valuable tips for care of my new babies before they even had teeth!. Our 3 yro second visit included the red dye so I could see where we are missing brushing. we also got an education about a varnish that can be applied. It's very important that I have people to support my family with the newest technology and education. I once feared dental care for myself but it's NOT going to rub off on my kids as we have a great team!
It took a lot for me just to get myself to go knowing what I needed to have done. I felt comfortable with the doctor and the staff. Thank you for making me feel encouraged to go and to keep going. Thank you. Mike
This was a very nice teeth cleaning visit, highly trained professionals with a happy and cheerful attitude.....none of the upsale stuff this time!!! :-)
Essex Family Dentistry is always so efficiently run. I virtually never wait more than 60 seconds in their waiting room. I don't know why they even have magazines there!

I brought my 7 year old in after she complained of something stuck in her teeth. I could not get it out without her crying. Dr. Makay calmly explained that it was piece of bone and removed it in less than a minute with no issues. He was very in tune with her sensitive nature and put her at ease immediately. This is why we continue to go to EFD even though we no longer live in the area.
Brenda is outstanding! She is so genuine, and a great teacher. The entire staff is very congenial and helpful. Great senses of humor, which is so important to me :) I just wish dental care was not so expensive. Now that we are older and retired, our original fillings are failing us :( So each check-up reveals a cracked tooth, cracked filling, etc. Thank the good Lord we have dental insurance, or it would be more difficult for us.
The entire staff is excellent.. Today the visit was out standing. I had cleaning and one filling. I have never had a bad experience at Essex Family Dental.
This was my first visit with Brenda Mangan and it was a pleasure. That's coming from ME who has very sensitive teeth and rarely think of a dentist visit with pleasure. Thank you for taking such good care of me and all of your patients. Also, thanks again to everybody who helped my son through having a root canal of his front tooth last week.
