Finally got here. Delicious and exactly the sort of thing I want to eat. Great store too.
I'm having heirloom tomatoes and peaches from both Essene and WF with breakfast and there's just no comparison. WF's tomatoes are mealy and disappointing. The peaches from WF seem to go straight from unripe to mush. Essene's heirlooms are AMAZING. Eating them with salt. I don't even want to waste them on a sandwich. Every peach I've gotten from Essene this summer has been juicy beyond belief and so fragrant and wonderful. Essene's produce department does an awesome job, year round.
I love this place, but when I need someone to get bread down from the shelf it's anybodies guess if I can accomplish it with grace. Sometimes it's an exercise in self restraint. This morning when the woman behind the meal counter caught my eye, she immediately went back to her important task. This, after me making eye contact and saying 'hi'.
