If it is natural it is here. They actually sell Sauerkraut based on different parts of Philly. The raw food section is wonderful. I get here when I can. Essene has a lot of things that other Natural markets don's.
We moved here from Princeton and are so happy we found Essene! We believe that the selection of organic products is far superior to Whole Foods, and the produce is fresher. They even ordered organic escarole for me. Thank you, Essene!
Have been coming here for almost 15 years - never disappoints. Love bringing my kids to the cafe to expose them to new and different foods. So many great vegan options!
Happy to find this store. Shop here instead of Whole Foods. Prices similar and many items lower than the whole.

I love going here when I come home. I can find items here that I normally can't find in the south & ship them back. The cooked food & salad bar is wonderful. The people are also very friendly. I'm feeling homesick now thinking about this place. Sighs.
