We love it – Great place. Love the food and the atmosphere. You must have the creamy dreamy corn. Yes the wine prices are more than if you bought a bottle at the store but so is evey restaurant in town. The service has always been wonderful and friendly.
What's Up With the Wine Prices? – Ample parking, ecclectic decor, friendly service and hearty food are present here but beverage value is absent. The steaks were great (not excellent but better than all but about 4-5 places in town) and reasonably priced for the portion. Don't be late! – On saturday I made reservations for four at 7:30 PM to celebrate my wife's birthday. Bad traffic due to multiple sporting events that evening put us behind schedule. We eventually arrived and checked in with the hostess at 7:46 PM. This is when the hostess informed us of the 15 minute policy. They only hold tables for fifteen minutes past your reservation tome. yummy! – hands down, one of the best steak houses in this city. i've been to ruth chris's and manny's and for the price, erte beats them all! service with a smile and then some - never felt so taken care of. great place for a group as well as a romantic spot for two. i give 'em a 10 on everything...
don't split!! – The entrees do not come with a side, so my date and I ordered 1 steak to share and 3 sides. There was a $5 split plate charge, and all that included was an extra empty plate. I understand that they have more to cover than the food, but $5 for an empty plate is ridiculous. And on top of that, the steak was below average and the mashed potatoes were dry. I don't think I would go again.
Wonderful! – Fantastic food every time we've gone. The "sangria chicken" is simply incredible. Definitely worth a trip up to this part of town. Service has been spot on every time we go -- no it's not a rush-rush job, but you can get that at McDonald's. This is a place where they let you relax and enjoy your meal. Thank goodness! I'd rather have friendly and considerate than rushed. Great wine list, although the staff should be more familiar with it.
Good Food Good Prices – Totally enjoyed going to Erte's. The prices are reasonable and we found the wait staff to be laid back but attentive. I had the chicken breast and it turned out to be wonderful. Next time, I would try the steak. This place is fun - kinda funky chic.
Snoty Waitress – We went to Erte for brunch. We had a special occasion and had a great time the last time so we suggested Erte. Most of us ordered benedict. Everyones eggs were cooked hard. No big deal, but we asked for new ones and received attitude back from the waitress. And these eggs took a long time to make. The wine list is okay lots of names to stand by. The atmosphere is nice if they have all the windows closed in the morning it feels like 10pm. I may try it again but never to impress friends.
Best Steak for the Money – I just vistied Erte for the second time to celebrate a special occasion. I was so impressed with it the first time, I chose it again to introduce all of my family to this little gem. The steak is better than Manny's at about 1/2 the price. The service is more than attentive, and the atmosphere is casual and fun. Forget Manny's, I'll keep coming back to Erte.
