I can see why this hospital has the reviews they have as far as care. My elderly dad (80yrs) was at an appointment at the Wound Clinic. They wanted him to get his leg examined due to possible blood clots. My dad’s legs were leaking and his feet so swollen. They let him set from 3:00 PM on 09/04 to last time I looked at 12:11 AM 09/05 into the next morning (which we are still waiting) I asked several times to help him with his drainage due to being in the waiting room but no he will have to deal with it because they don’t hav... read more

My dad was in there for brain bleed.sent him straight from icu to a nursing home for therapy even though he wasn’t acting right at all.over a wk later we finally got him a ct scan and found brain still bleeding and pressure was very high in his brain.they sent him back to Erlanger and waited 3 days until pressure got so bad they had to do a craniotomy.he has Parkinson’s which his dr is there.but they had Alzheimer’s on his chart instead.you would ask to visit and they would tell you he’s not on that floor.when I tell them I ... read more

I’ve had a lot of surgeries at this hospital, and while they did save my life more than once, I’ve also experienced many painful and frustrating situations. To be fair, most of the nurses I dealt with were kind and caring, and some of the cancer doctors were really supportive. They also saved my life. That’s the only reason I gave this hospital 2.5 stars instead of 1 or 2 stars. Unfortunately, there were also too many negative experiences. My brother died at Erlanger. His surgery went outstandingly well, but then in an over enthusiastic/arrogant, move by the surgeon to fast forward him out of ICU, the NG tube was removed Allowing my brother to aspirate into his lungs, go through nine weeks of hell and, When his body was Irrecoverably damaged, I was left to make the most horrifying decision of my life.
