Elliston Place Soda Shop

4.5

About this business

Elliston's owner hasn't changed the restaurant much since its opening in 1950s. The great food and service that made this famous also remain the same. Burgers and shakes are the standard here, but you can also get a good 'meat-and-three' meal as well. While this Nashville landmark was made famous by the movie, "Sweet Dreams: The Patsy Cline Story" starring Jessica Lange, its popularity with downtown workers and Vanderbilt University students is attributed mainly to its casual atmosphere and delicious food.

Love the old time feel of the place. Great burgers and shakes. I love that they keep the tradition going.

Very friendly staff, great diner food, loved the nostalgia. The only thing I couldn’t overlook was the grimeness of the bathroom facilities. The door had layers of fingerprint yuck 🤢.

Still an awesome place to eat. It was good enough for Elvis! Best onion rings ever!

This place is a Nashville staple and I am baffled by the 2-and-3 star reviews of people that haven't ever eaten here. EPSS is exactly as advertised: an old school soda shop with a throwback feel. If you're expecting lobster and a glass of champagne, you're in the wrong place. If you want a diner-style meal with clever twists on classics and a handmade milkshake, you've arrived. I send everyone that visits town to the Shop and nobody leaves disappointed. I highly recommend the grilled cheeseburger and Reubilly.

I was so excited to take my 3 year old there for a hot fudge banana split (which are amazing), unfortunately I spent $16 to park and only got 2 bites in before I found a roach crawling down my arm across the counter. One waitress scooped it up with a napkin and tossed it in the floor saying “sorry hun, this building is old” um no, old is not why you have roaches. I didn’t take another bite, instead told my little boy it was time to go. As I go to pay, my waitress apologizes, saying it’s a problem, and it’s embarrassing. That... read more
