Elliston's owner hasn't changed the restaurant much since its opening in 1950s. The great food and service that made this famous also remain the same. Burgers and shakes are the standard here, but you can also get a good 'meat-and-three' meal as well. While this Nashville landmark was made famous by the movie, "Sweet Dreams: The Patsy Cline Story" starring Jessica Lange, its popularity with downtown workers and Vanderbilt University students is attributed mainly to its casual atmosphere and delicious food.

Great service. Good food. Great place to have a great meal.
Great food! Best waitress ever. We will definitely be back for another visit.
I wanted to like this place so bad. My daughter was so stoked to eat there. Some of the food was good but do not order redneck nachos. That was a joke. They tore up on slice of cheese in pieces in put it on top of the chili and fries. I had to get my own drink refill and my own napkins. We were never brought enough silverware or ask if the food was ok. The only response we got is when we all just stared her down to get something. The table that came in 10 mins behind us got there food before us. The waitress was flirting and... read more
If I could give less then one I would. It took over 30 min to get two hot dogs and 50 for a dry not chicken patty sandwich. Top it off went to pay the bill waitress gives me singles back and no change I guess she decided my .93 was hers.
I moved to Elliston Place (The Rock Block) 28yrs ago from the country and grew up on the kinda food they serve. I are supper there most evenings cause the food was so dang authentic Southern. Still live in Tn but not Nashville, still visit the beautiful and booming city often and ate there Feb.8th '18 with a friend for the first time. I hadn't eaten there in yrs. And was pleased to see that in a sea of monsterous growth that it still looked the same and my friend and I both do atest that the food is still dynamite!!!
This soda shop was well aged and pretty much perfect in every way. Yep, its old. Its also majestic. It wouldn't matter if the food was horrible, you still can go and soak up the atmosphere. It really is one of Nashville's dining gems! The chicken was terrific, and the collard greens superb! Mac and cheese was just so so. It was so cold on the day we arrived that we did not want to do one of their famous milkshakes. That will be for next time. We will be back!
