RecommendedIf you find yourself shopping for a car, I HIGHLY recommend Shawn Quindel and the rest of the team at Elgin Volkswagen. I HATE car shopping and he made the process painless and dare I say, even pleasant. I really love our new-to-us Jetta and feel like we got a very fair price.
dont sell cars out from under people, especially after they offer a deposit and the dealership declines. Thats probably a good place to start.

0 stars I almost never write reviews, but the absolute disgust I'm feeling right now has forced me to let everyone know: DO NOT GO TO ELGIN VOLKSWAGEN (unless you wanna be scammed out of thousands of dollars). I have taken my car into service not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 TIMES to get the exact same problem fixed. They assured and promised me last time that this would be resolved. It's not. Absolutely loved my experience today!! Fernando was so fun to work with and remembered me by name after I had stopped in briefly a month prior! Which made me feel like he actually cares dearly for his costumers. He spent a lot of time going over all the details of the car before and even after we purchased it. I have never been to a dealership or a place that sells cars like this place. It was such a family environment with some genuine people. My Fiancé and I took the 2015 VW Golf TDI in for the Phase 2 emissions work that needed to be completed, along with a host of other repairs (warranty and non-warranty) that needed to be done. I can tell you from a mechanic's perspective that this place I cannot recommend. They did nothing I asked for (correctly or at all) and everything I didn't ask for, including trying to sell me a $225 battery for a small car that just had a 110 point inspection 2 months ago.
