I went to Elgin Volkswagen, because my lease was up on my Tiguan and I wanted to buy another. Shawn Quindel greeted us and spent 3 hours with us. He was very informative and helpful. I was interested in several cars, but Marco the manager would not go down on his price, so we walked out. I called Shawn several days later and he said come back and we will see what we can do. Shawn Quindel did a great job providing us with a virtual tour of a car due to COVID and long distance. He went over our questions and checked all areas of the car for any damage or concerns. If he didn’t know the answer he looked into it for us and got back quickly. Communication was easy, he was supportive, he didn’t rush, and didn’t pressure us into decision making. Horrible experience with the general manager at this location. Even with COVID-19 concerns the manager said that they require a sales person to be on the test drive with you. That is not acceptable, I do not want to be in a confined space with a complete stranger even with masks on. When I expressed my concerns his response was that our policy, I explained that they were going to lose a sale over safety concerns and he said OK, and hung up on me.
