About this business

Vintage photographs of family members provide a charming ambiance. Due in part to the location, this restaurant enjoys a great deal of popularity with artists and business people alike. Outdoor seating is tempting in fair weather. Traditional Tex-Mex dominates the menu, but an unusual alternative is available in the form of Mollejitas, or sweetbreads. Of course, they are not for the faint of heart, so order with caution and enjoy. Finish off your meal with some sopapillas or flan.

great fajitas – I really enjoyed the margaritas and fajitas - but beware the margaritas knock you off your feet. I do not like how you have to valet park in the parking lot closest to the door at the Richmond store - but don't get me started.

Damn, that's good stuff! – Everywhere I go, I order a margarita on the rocks, no salt. Same thing happened when I went to El Tiempo Cantina. First thing I noticed was the large margarita glass it came in, not like other places that serve them in plastic cups (YUCK!). Then I tasted it. Wonderful! It has a strange sweetness to it. Definitly the best Rita I have ever experienced. Add the Latin music and people dancing on the bar and you have got one happening place!

muey caliente!!! =^..^= – They have GREEN avocado sauce that they bring out with the salsa. This is one thing that NOT many Mexican Restaurants do. I love that stuff and El Tiempo does make this very well tastes great. The Crab and shrimp enchiladas are exquisite. They make you just smile. I always ask for Jalepenoes fresh and pickled. They have GREAT jalepenoes. Service is better than it was. Dinner is crowded but I like going for lunch. Also, they always have Don Julio waiting for me when I walk in. This is always a good t... read more

Great scene and margaritas – This is not only my favorite Tex-Mex in Houston (particularly the fajitas and the queso), but my favorite place for a margarita and a great place to "see and be seen". I highly recommend it. I'll probably see you there!

5 – i like the atmosphere and the drinks. although, i overheard one of the bartenders complaining to customer over a tip, asking why he didn't get a tip, and practically ripped the poor guy in half. i found that to be quite unprofessional. i know that the staff relies on tips, but to confront a paying customer was very offensive to me. needless to say, i will not be going back, and plan on telling everyone that i know of this particular bartender's rude and offensive behavior toward his customers. thanks, but no thanks.
