Vintage photographs of family members provide a charming ambiance. Due in part to the location, this restaurant enjoys a great deal of popularity with artists and business people alike. Outdoor seating is tempting in fair weather. Traditional Tex-Mex dominates the menu, but an unusual alternative is available in the form of Mollejitas, or sweetbreads. Of course, they are not for the faint of heart, so order with caution and enjoy. Finish off your meal with some sopapillas or flan.

Hefe – The best fajitas in Houston, especially their steak fajitas. I usually split the steak fajitas and rib (castillas) combo, and the ribs are actually VERY good. Portions are big, so it is good to share. The price is reasonable, too, and I always end up spending more on booze than food. Their margaritas are the best, but extremely potent, so beware! The one on Richmond can get pretty packed on the week-end, but the wait normally isn't too long and you can occupy yourself with a margarita.
Expensive, but good – It gets extremely expensive if they convince you to add the shrimp, but best fajitas in all of Houston. Maybe all of Texas.
nothing comes close – To be sure El Tiempo's margaritas are phenom! It is a thing of complete beauty and should be considered a Texas treasure. The food here is the bomb and the only proof you need to know that this place is the best in Houston is how damn crowded and alive it is inside on a thursday night. ETC has the best of everthing and you will not be dissapointed!!!!
Open a restaurant in St. Louis – The food here is great. If you are a crab lover, you have to try the crab enchiladas. It is a great place to show off to a friend or your co-workers. Presentations are very eye appealing! We love it. If you don't like it, you should go to a fast food restaurant. Or at least learn how to spell, see review below.
Margarita – The margaritas at this restaurant are sooo good you really don't know how LETHAL they are till it's too late. It reminds me of dinking trash can punch many years ago, you really can't tell youre buzzed until you find yourself talking louder and feeling a little warm all over. 1 max at lunch or the rest of the day could end up blown off!!!!
Customer Service? – Terrible service. I was told I had to valet or park yourself myself in the street. Second, my party if six was made to get up AFTER we had been seated because we were not ordering dinner - this after we had ordered six margaritas at $8 a pop. Food was comparable to Taco Cabana at 4 star restaurant prices. I will never return.
food of the gods – Let it be known that El Tiempo Cantina has the three pillars of excellence... the opposite sex, stiff drinks, and highest quality fare. The mixed grill for 2 feeds at least 4, the women during happy hour are hot and wild, and the atmosphere is electric.
decent if overpriced texmex – Come here for decent tex mex and loud crowds.. The dishes are pretty big and also highly priced for texmex.
Worth Every Penny! – The Melon Margarita's here are the best I've ever had! The atmosphere is really relaxing too. Be sure to also try the lobster!!
El Tiempo Cantina has a 4.3 star rating with 2,398 reviews.
