Vintage photographs of family members provide a charming ambiance. Due in part to the location, this restaurant enjoys a great deal of popularity with artists and business people alike. Outdoor seating is tempting in fair weather. Traditional Tex-Mex dominates the menu, but an unusual alternative is available in the form of Mollejitas, or sweetbreads. Of course, they are not for the faint of heart, so order with caution and enjoy. Finish off your meal with some sopapillas or flan.

Best Mexican Food in Houston – This place has delicious food...fajitas best in Houston....plates are very big worth the price...
TIME FOR ANOTHER STAFF MEETING – My comments are this: Managers, get your staff together and discuss possibly sending all staff to a training seminar once in a while. Wait staff, bartenders, bussing staff, including the managers need to be able to handle a busy and popular place like El Tiempo. Your food is very good, a bit pricy, but worth it, your drinks are outstanding, but you need to be competitive in every way in order to continue with your success. If not, word gets around and soon you will find yourself wondering, "w... read more
Great Food, but a little pricey-Should try once. – Great food, but a little on the pricey side. There are so many better restaurants with better prices in Houston.
Best Mexican food – This place has the most awsome crab enchiladas I have ever had. I now live in St. Louis, and am having serious Mexican food withdrawls, please open one up here!!!
Hefe – The best fajitas in Houston, especially their steak fajitas. I usually split the steak fajitas and rib (castillas) combo, and the ribs are actually VERY good. Portions are big, so it is good to share. The price is reasonable, too, and I always end up spending more on booze than food. Their margaritas are the best, but extremely potent, so beware! The one on Richmond can get pretty packed on the week-end, but the wait normally isn't too long and you can occupy yourself with a margarita.
Expensive, but good – It gets extremely expensive if they convince you to add the shrimp, but best fajitas in all of Houston. Maybe all of Texas.
nothing comes close – To be sure El Tiempo's margaritas are phenom! It is a thing of complete beauty and should be considered a Texas treasure. The food here is the bomb and the only proof you need to know that this place is the best in Houston is how damn crowded and alive it is inside on a thursday night. ETC has the best of everthing and you will not be dissapointed!!!!
Open a restaurant in St. Louis – The food here is great. If you are a crab lover, you have to try the crab enchiladas. It is a great place to show off to a friend or your co-workers. Presentations are very eye appealing! We love it. If you don't like it, you should go to a fast food restaurant. Or at least learn how to spell, see review below.
Margarita – The margaritas at this restaurant are sooo good you really don't know how LETHAL they are till it's too late. It reminds me of dinking trash can punch many years ago, you really can't tell youre buzzed until you find yourself talking louder and feeling a little warm all over. 1 max at lunch or the rest of the day could end up blown off!!!!
