El Rancho was built in 1948 by the Jahnke family as a trading post. They sold the building in November 1953 to Mildred and Ray Zipprich, Milwaukee Wisconsin pie distributors. Their daughter Donna and son-in-law Paul McEncroe joined them in February 1958 and operated it, with their children, until 1988. After the McEncroes sold El Rancho in 1988 it was owned and operated by various families. In May 2015 the Vincent families renovated the historic restaurant as a brew pub, opening in November 2015. Stopped on a whim for lunch at about 2:00 on a Wednesday. Frida greeted us warmly at the door, and got us a table to both accommodate our wheelchair and gave us a great view. Sam was our waiter, and he was simply amazing. He gave me a great beer recommendation (Swipe Right - yum!), and treated our son with a disability like he was a VIP. The food was yummy - the only suggestion for improvement is to use less salty tortilla chips for the nachos. Chicken strips were wonderful, as was the bison burger. Members of the Northern Colorado Indian Motorcycle Riders Group stopped at El Rancho Brewing for lunch on our return ride from Mt Evans. Our reservation was ready when we arrived, and were greeted by friendly staff. The restaurant had good ambiance, good food, and quick service. #nocoimrg
I'm playing there today:-)
Unfortunately, the quality of food was not worth the charge for the service. The chips could have passed as Doritos and were very salty. The steamed vegetables were very salty and weren’t supposed to be steamed, they should have been sautéed. The brisket was sadly, awful. Disappointing. The waiter was, meh. We were there last year and it was very good. Disappointing in general.
The food was delicious ~ service was friendly and fast and this restaurant has wonderful ambiance. Highly recommend!
We just walked out after not getting waited on which was odd, because they weren’t busy AT ALL! On our way out there was a blonde lady at the front counter and I said “Do you not have any servers here today to help us?” And she told us they didn’t???? Nope, I would definitely not recommend!
Went in today after there revamp. It was the worst it has ever been. Food was terrible! Waiter never came back to the table to ask if anyone wanted a drink refill. There was no beer menu, jalapeño poppers were small coated things with corn in them and cheese and disgusting. If this is what you were closed for the whole week to get this new one sheet menu, keep it I will never be back and as a local that’s terrible...
Happy hour...lost a little with raising beer from 3 to 4 bucks and happy hour food from 4 to 5 bucks...
