This place use to be a family favorite. We would eat here 50% of the time we ate out but here lately everytime we have went something has went wrong. Not sure why this place has went downhill but it has. Yesterday we went for an early dinner and we found a hair in the queso, my order came out wrong - we sent it back and it came out wrong again, we had no silverware until we were 3/4 done with our meal because there was none clean, no queso, relish or salsa because there were no bowls clean. RecommendedGreat tex-mex but be aware this is not an authentic experience for Mexican cuisine.
The food was awesome and Amy waitress was good also the only complaint I have is I was told a a 5 to to minute wait Ok no problem 20 minutes later people that came after me was going in. I went up to see if the forgot me and apparently and just in the front part there was about 6 clean empty tables
Recommendedit has been years since the Location in Carrollton closed that we have had El Chico! We found this one in Flower Mound ordered 24 soapapillas, Tamale plate an chimichanga. I died an went to Heaven! Staff was AMAZING. I look forward to Driving from Farmers Branch to Flower Mound at least 1 time a week now. They have a Sunday Brunch i will be coming to every sunday.

RecommendedI just visited El Chico for the first time in 20 years. I used to go to the one further south off of 35. I wanted to see if the food is still just as good as it ever was. It is. I moved out of the area 20 years ago and I've wanted to come back to visit ever since. Staff were great-extremely friendly even though I showed up right before closing. AWESOME!
