There are several self-guided hiking trails such as the Observation Trail, which winds through oak groves to culminate with a sweeping view of the river. RecommendedWalk a number of trails, one along the American River. Most trails are level, a few with a slight slope, or areas of unevenness with intermittent river rocks, roots. Interpretive placards along the trails inform about the plants, animals, fauna and flora. Parking fee, else purchase an annual pass. EYN Center has gift ideas, more interpretive displays, information. Definitely a family friendly area.
