Edward Jones requires clients to conduct all financial advisory services through their system of branch offices. I have found those branch offices severely lacking in business management and financial advisory skills. The branch offices typically don't understand their headquarters procedures and practices nor can they administer those procedures and practices. He's a gentleman, as well as a good friend and money manager. We have been with Edward Jones for years, when we were younger, they were great and seemed truly interested in our financial future. As we got closer to our retirement age, our original advisor pawned us off to someone new, this has now happened twice to us and please note, we informed our current advisor we would be retiring next March and what do you know, he has now pawned us off to someone new again just starting out with Edward Jones. I’m writing with complaints about my local branch and the corporate headquarters as well. I asked to close my account with Edward Jones and have the funds from my Roth IRA transferred into my personal checking account. This transaction was supposed to be done Monday, it is Thursday now and there’s no word on when it will be done. ALSO my financial advisor attempted to withdraw funds from my checking without my authorization. There has been no communication, no apology, nothing! Edward Jones in *********, **** . My financial advisor didnt have the knowledge regarding stocks and the lack of communication with her was very frustrating. After a few months, I asked her about my high risk stocks, her answer was: oh ! Im sorry, my mistake, I shouldve sold the stocks . I lost a lot of money because of her, my financial adviser.I finally transferred my money to a different company, I have a new financial advisor , what a difference!.Overall, my experience with Edward Jones was a desastre. Our parents left us a nice inheritance and after the last parent passed December 6th 2022. A *** was filed. By January 12th we received our temporary accounts for the disbursements. Today is March 13 and no funds have been disbursed. We have contacted the local office regularly and get excuses and promises of information and or emails which are not acted upon. I am giving a 1 Star Review to ***** ***** at Edward Jones because my account was mishandled. I had funds at ******** and ******* ****and was looking to move my ******** account with someone closer to home. I wanted to mirror what I had at Fidelity, have my new accounts at Edward Jones be the same, and then make changes later. On our second meeting, he had a selection of funds for my Traditional IRA he wanted me to invest in. I went with his recommendations. ****** ************ Regional Manager of an Edward Jones office in Kingman, AZ shared my personal financial information with another customer of his including the accounts I was transferring to another firm. Additionally, he discussed the aptitude of another firm and their ability to handle my account with the other customer, who then called me and expressed his concern that I was moving my accounts. This breach of customer confidentiality and lack of professionalism is appalling. Zero stars. Would not recommend.
