I retired in 2008. Contacted Edward Jones advisor Mike ************ and decided to invest with him. Wanted to use some funds to supplement income and was told that was fine that there was enough to recover this. Stocks fell in late 08 into 09 and all we were told was to hang in there. After dropping nearly 100k we were told about advisory solutions where the company was to keep tabs and adjust accordingly to keep from losing. Edward Jones , Sean ****** advisor , Was with him for over 5 years , was good in the beginning , then he got greedy and was changing bad investments into other bad investments just so he could take his cut , which drained ME of over $80,000 , which negated all of the years I was with him and RUINED MY RETIREMENT. Now all I can do is just sit in my house until I die !
Been with Edward Jones for 25 years , then my manager retired , they brought in Chad hanelman to replace him , and all of my investments where sold at the reins of Chad , with out my authority , i contacted Edward Jones with my complaint , they said Sorry . very poor service , think twice about your investments , because they are at there discretion of the manager , this was Edwards Jones reply

To whom it may concern: The Complaint Investigations Department is responsible for reviewing clients' concerns regarding their accounts. As such, Steven Sherle's complaint has been forwarded to our department for review and response. Edward Jones takes all client complaints seriously. We reviewed this matter and responded directly to the client.
My broker was competent and approachable. However, I wanted to invest in funds with lower expenses so I transferred our accounts to another institution. Edward Jones then charged excessive transfer fees. There is a $95 account close out fee per account, plus another $40 Roth IRA transfer fee. Altogether, we paid over $600 in transfer fees.
James *******, Financial Advisor of the North Seattle Office went to ******* Gardens (an independent senior living facility close to his office) and formed a "relationship" with our father who has early onset dementia, Alzheimers, and a massive drinking problem and made progress in trying to get our impaired father to transfer his assets from ****** ******* in NYC from a broker who has worked with our family for over thirty years. This was a gentleman who approached our financial advisor (FA) and wanted to discuss moving his account. The FA quickly realized the client appeared to have diminished capacity and asked the gentleman if there was someone he trusted he could speak to about his financial affairs. The gentleman referenced his attorney and the FA reached out to the attorney and at that time he was made aware that his daughter (listed above) was the POA for the gentleman.
