Autenthic Indian Food experience – I am a frequent client at East Indian company.I enjoy taking business clients and friends there.Love the service.Very punctual and pleasant. These folks are so warm and friendly.Food quality is out of this World. Finally Portland got a classy Indian restaurant. My favorite is their Viceroy lunch menu.It is so balanced. The mutton Kebab and vegetabe curry is fantastic.I take fish kebabs also regularly.

Horrible service at lunch – I was so excited to learn of a new Indian restaurant in portland and even more so after reading the reviews. We decided to go for lunch and I couldn't have been more disappointed. The lunch menu was limited and after we were seated we waited for an hour for our main course. Several people who came in after us had already eaten and left by the time our food finally came. After an hour and a half we still did not have the dessert that was supposed to come with our meal so we finally just left. The s... read more

much awaited, good indian dining – finally!!! i can take my non-indian friends to an indian restaurant and feel good about it. portland's all other indian restaurant(except bombay cricket club) are really bad - really. they are what taco bell is for "mexican dining". this one is classy, excellent food and service and an ambience which is more like what better restraurants in india are like. go ahead and enjoy. i wish it was a little less pricier..but still worth it.

Best Indian Food In Portland – Every time I visit larger cities (NYC, San Francisco, etc.) I always make a point of trying to dine at a good Indian restaurant. The reason? I have been totally dissatisfied with Portland's selection of Indian restaurants. Sure, Bombay Cricket Club isn't bad, Vindalhoo has some Indian influences, India House is OK, and Swaggat is passable, but nothing really seemed like it was that good. Until now. THANK YOU East India for opening! East India has a very small store front - there is a narrow bar... read more

Great Indian Food; EIC delights – This was our second visit to EIC and another enjoyable & satisfying evening. The ambience is stylish, the wait-staff pleasant and informed. One of the main complements I have for EIC is that the food preperation of the dishes was superb and the sauces tasted unique and authentic. Very often at other Indian restaurants in the PDX area most of the dishes use the same sauce blend - EIC excelled here and everyone in our group was equivocal that they serve the BEST Indian food in our area. The se... read more

Best Indian food in the U.S – Ambiance is really trendy, food is equal to a 5* restaurant of India, service is excellent. Murgh and vegetarian dishes are the best I've eaten across India, Europe and the U.S. Lunch menu is very unique with just the tastiest appetizers. We've finally found a high end Indian restaurant in the Portland area and will be frequently dining there. Try it once and you'll just love it. Make reservations during the weekends though, 6-8 p.m. time slot is taken very quickly.

Cozy atmosphere to fill your stomach – The Naan is amazing, we ordered 4 baskets for the two of us. We spent an hour or so enjoying the spicy Gosht Vindaloo, the gingered Murg Korma, and the Aloo-Kaju Cutlets while enjoying another saturday happy hour ;) The restaurant is classy, the servers are very polite, but orders seem to get lost in translation since you're served your meals by 6 people. Definitely worth going to, but I heard it's smart to make reservations!

always a great evening – I had a very nice experience at this Restaurant, started with appetizers ? Papdi Chat and Tandoori Chicken Salad; both were uniquely presented and were very flavorful. Then we had Muchli ka Tikka ? boy that was some great fish, well marinated, which reminded me of India. The manager suggested grilled mushrooms in ?5? greens and that was superb. All our entrees were really good, the Rogan Josh shanks and the Navratan korma. The choices of desserts were very attractive too. The wait staff was nice. Thi... read more

Best Indian Food in P-town – I have had to opportunity to eat at most if not all of the Indian food places in Portland and the surrounding BeaverTigarTualaHillsboroton.... I hate to travel to the suburbs but must if the food is inviting enough. Most Indian food aside from my family's is usually a bit heavy, ie ghee laden... which can be substituted with spice to make up the difference and I have my top choices. If anybody wants a great authentic meal paired with good wine then this would be my suggestion.... Note this isn't ... read more
