I purchased my brand new home from DSLD in 2019. After about 3 years my dad noticed that above my garage there is a crack in the mortar that is running horizontally and vertically. Recently I contacted the warranty department to see if someone can assist me with this issue. I was told via email to send pics which I did then I was told that it is a cosmetic issue and typical homeowner cosmetic maintenance. Since when has cracks in mortar become cosmetic. Purchased an Al. home. After the get paid you can forget getting anything completed correctly. They left our front yard a mess!
The home is nice and was built on time. The warranty and care after closing is trash. We're waiting on 30 day items to be fixed and we're almost at the 12 month walk through. The warranty isn't covering my terrible looking warping front door or my mis matched counter tops. We also just had a cold night with temps down to 12 degrees. We dripped faucets, opened cabinets, insulated exterior faucets, put a heater in the garage and still have frozen pipes. So just to give you background of my experience with home builders, my wife and I have had about 15 brand new homes in the past 20 years. Some were homes we lived in and some homes we rented out. The range of homes were from DR Horton to Drees from Las Vegas, Texas, and now South Alabama. Just in Alabama we have had 4 since 2018. Now Baldwin County had a big issue with DR Horton and almost kicked them out of the county from building in the area. T... read more

Ripley model experience. this has a poorly designed hot water system with the natural gas Rheem tankless water heater. the kitchen water will only get luke warm if best along with pressure issues. I suggest you run the hot water in the kitchen and bath when you looking at model homes or ones that were already built on the market. tony
Spent 6 nights in the new house I purchased on 2/16. Garage door gets stuck when opening and makes a loud noise, weather stripping totally missing on one side of the front door where I can see daylight and feel temperature, weather stripping torn on back door, paint drippings and dings everywhere, large crack in center of crown molding in living room, frame and screen on front window bent and torn, rust on floor in primary bath, found out today that not only does dishwasher not work, it has mold in it, I have pictures of my... read more
I do not know where to begin with this review. I would not give Dsld one star. First I want to say I purchased my home back in 2018 and I have had nothing but problems since then. I have had issues with the flooring, the knobs on the doors trim coming up and appliances installed that did not work from day one. I reached out to dsld when I was under warranty and the claim they took care of the issues, but still to this day I have to kick my wood in place. They installed a dishwasher in that was broken never took care of ... read more
