I would have been a new patient. I was told that I could not book an appointment with the doctor until I faxed over my records. I did so the same day. Thien Nguyen. I was referred to Dr. Nguyen by another doctor. I had gone to the other doctor with an acute injury that caused pain and weakness. I don’t know what the other doctor said in his referral about my presenting condition. Only know that the referral asked for an EMG. When I arrived, Nguyen’s medical assistant asked me my pain level. I'm over 50years old, I have never left a good Dr for their office/support staff until now. They are rude, condescending and arrogant. The incredible air of entitlement inthe staff is just amazing. Perhaps if Dr Nguyen had been more helpful I would have toughed it out; all I received was a slew of expensive tests, that I suspect he makes a profit on- that proved absolutely nothing. Many great neurologists in the area- find another one

Dr. Nguyen takes all the time you need to explain any aspect of your medical care. He does not rush through the appointment and carefully explains any tests, his diagnosis and possible treatments.

I have been taking my dad there for a year to monitor a few conditions. I don't know if he is a good clinician or not as he seemed very passive in his approach and we didn't get any guidance. When he closed the office for a few months during the pandemic, he would answer occasional questions on the phone. I called him based on my dad having a possible side effect of one of his medications and needed to understand what to do next. I felt Dr. Nguyen spent plenty of time with me, explained things well, and gave me a lot of information without a lot of overly-complex terminology. He also seemed to be aware of, and respected, the fact that not all things he might recommend would be covered by my insurance. I don't know how effective the treatment will be, as I have just started. But at least he gave me realistic hope that I'll get relief from an issue that has bothered me for a long time. I had a very frustrating and awful experience here with reception. The doctor was outstanding the first time I met with him and I believe diagnosed me correctly. I called him one time after prescribed medication and he called me right back. I called him back before my follow up appointment, though and heard nothing back. I was in so much pain and really scared so I called reception, the doctor, and emailed them twice.
