She changed our child's life, and our family's life. We were lucky to see her, she would fit us in when cancellations occurred until finally we got a weekly spot. I read the things about her husband online, and decided that it had nothing to do with the superior quality of care we are receiving. She can sometimes be brusque, but big whoop.
Dr. Golden has been a tremendous advocate for our son. He had been struggling with attention, learning and behavioural problems related to ADHD and anxiety. Dr. Golden wrote letters to the school, filled out all the forms we needed to access necessary services and followed up with phone consultations to the school. We met Dr. Golden 2 years ago after trying many child psychiatrists and psychologists. Our daughter had been suffering for many years. Most of her previous psychiatrists offered us only medication for our daughter which usually resulted in severe side effects or no results. It has been a pleasure working with Dr. Golden. We were able to work with her to treat our daughter's OCD and anxiety without medication. Our daughter looks forward to her sessions.
Dr. Golden treated my son over a number of years. I found her guidance and willingness to deal with my son's school to be above and beyond anything I saw with my son's previous Psychiatrist.
I was disappointed in this Doctor. She openly discussed, without warning, her diagnosis of my youngster with the child in the room, including the serious future ramifications for him. (According to her, at least) This seemed wholly inappropriate. This Doctor had no staff present, thus the low mark. Perhaps NA would have been more appropriate, but the lack of any staff may also speak to the quality of the Doctor and to the veracity of some of the other reviews. Many have rated her non existent staff at 5.
Super doctor. Very caring and great with my 12 year old son who refused to see anyone else more than once. We have been coming for a month or so now and he is doing well with her. I'm also learning things from her about how to help my son and not exacerbate his anxiety which I was doing without knowing it. I feel very lucky we were able to get in to see her.
She is an extremely knowledgeable psychiatrist . Very supportive and attentive . In my opinion Dr Golden does not "trademark over medicate her clients" ( as said in a previous comment) a parent has the right to refuse medication if they don't feel comfortable or think it's necessary . This was my experience . When I finally felt comfortable to try medication Dr Golden has taken a very slow approach and has taken care to monitor my daughter every step of the way .
Dr Golden has been treating my daughter for Anxiety and Selective Mutism for the past 2 years . She is highly motivated , listens intently , and has gone over and above to help my daughter advance in society . I would have given Dr Golden a perfect score but she doesn't have any staff on her payroll and runs the office and all appointments herself .
