Dr Varma is very positive. My son has many health issues and she never gave up hope for him. She helped him get off marijuana. He is now able to drive and live independently. She helped our family work through his depression and give him more freedom. We needed guidance as a family and did not realize we were enabling negative behaviors.
Felt very comfortable there. Private setting with personal attention. It made me feel much more at ease than other psychiatrists I had been to over the years.
I have been dealing with anxiety for a couple of years and its gotten a lot worse recently. I called several offices to find out they could not take me in for 3 months. I was so happy to find out Dr Varma had opening for me in only 6 days after I called. I was so happy to get in and my first appointment felt so reassuring. I am looking forward to my next appt
Dr. Varma understands that mental illness effects the entire family. She has helped my family understanding and helping me. She is easy to reach and her staff is fantastic! I never would have gotten though my severe depression without her.
It’s easy to talk to dr. Varma about my problems and she helps with my friends and school life. And with my anxieties.
My child was not sure if she was gay or trans. Dr. Varma worked sensitively with my daughter to help her work through her concerns. Dr. Varma spent alot of time with her and with our family to assist us and took into consideration everyone's input. She gave us material to read as well.
Sees me in person which is important for my condition. Helps me with school and parent problems. Gives me good advice and manages my meds.
I've been seeing Dr. Varma for a few months now and really can't ask for any better. Love the evening hours so I can go straight after work (and she's seen me pretty late a couple of times which was very convenient) and not have to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seen. I don't feel rushed, she is down to earth and easy to talk to, doesn't push meds on me if I want to stay on less medication, explains things in a simple way, says it like it is and makes sure I stay on a healthy path. Dr. Varma comes across as competent, but is more interested in profit than patient. You'll be charged more than than any other psychiatrist in the area ($750 out-of-pocket, per session) and will be abruptly dropped as a patient if you cannot financially keep up with weekly sessions of the above cost. It comes out to be the equivalent of a home mortgage ($3,000+ per month). Stay away.
