After having consultations with five surgeons in the area, I chose Dr. Kalantar to perform a spinal fusion and cage that I needed because of the constricted nerves into my legs and because of a slipped disk. He was professional, experienced and very knowledgeable, and listened carefully to my concerns. He readily answered questions and even agreed to see me a second time before the surgery to reassure me as to why the surgery was necessary.

Dr. Kalantar preformed a Lumbar Spinal Fusion on me 7 weeks ago. I went into the surgery with life-altering pain in both of my heals and am now at a point that I can perform nearly most of my daily functions again, which I was not able to for more than 6 months prior to surgery. Dr Kalantar and his staff have been very supportive, helpful and thorough throughout this whole process. I was under excellent care and am grateful to be able to live life nearly pain free at this point after only a few weeks post surgery.
I would highly recommend Dr. Kalantar to anyone seeking consult from a spine surgeon. He seems to have an outcomes-based approach, meaning his goal is for the most optimal outcome for any patient he works with. Excellent surgeon. Explained surgery in easily understandable terms. Takes the time to answer questions. Positive and encouraging approach. After 5 weeks recovery from L5-S1 ALIF going well.
Dr Kalantar is always prepared, polite and informative. Generally, he answered all my questions before I asked them in his briefings.

Dr Kalantar is highly skilled and caring. He is compassionate and listens and explains the issues and options in a very clear cut manner. His practice/office is extremely well organized, run and staffed. His staff are incredibly kind and caring. Unlike some surgeons, Dr Kalantar offers less invasive alternatives to surgery but when surgery was necessary he was absolutely fantastic! Described what would happen during and after which I found reassuring.
Dr. Kalantar is an experienced professional who clearly and thoroughly explained his diagnosis of my spinal problems and the surgery that he recommended. He patiently answered all my questions; I never felt rushed. The surgery he performed on me (a laminoplasty) was wholly successful. I could not have been in better hands.
