My 13 year old daughter had pain behind her knee, and we, unfortunately, saw Dr. Galpin. He did x-rays, blew her off and sent her to PT for inflammation. A YEAR later, when she had more severe pain, we went back for x-rays, and discovered she had bone CANCER. After the fact, we realized Dr. Galpin saw a “cyst” (which was actually a TUMOR) a year before, and NEVER MENTIONED IT! Had I known there was a “cyst”, I certainly would’ve followed up sooner. This could have been life or death, and he blew it off. Thank goodness we cau... read more

Dr. Galpin and everyone at UB ortho provide excellent care. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Rude, condescending. And generally unprofessional. No communication between him and staff. Treats new parents like idiots. Shouldn’t work in pediatrics if he can’t handle a crying baby.

This Dr. was very condescending and dismissive toward my 12 year old, so I let him know that she has anxiety and he said that wasn’t his problem! It went downhill from there. Honestly we couldn’t leave fast enough and we will never go back there for any reason. It’s shocking that HE is a pediatric doctor considering how rude and impatient he is. My daughter started crying when we finally got out of there.

He's a horrible person. I took my 12 year old to him. Galpin was condescending, arrogant, etc. I had a history of my son's recent injury typed up - which I would expect a good doctor to find helpful and appreciate (my mistake! This is NOT a good doctor) but Galpin LITERALLY REFUSED to take it when I tried to hand him the typed history and said "what is that? I don't need that. This is obvious. He pulled a muscle a week ago. If he's not better after 3 weeks come back." Unfortunately, not only can the man apparently not read, ... read more

He was my son's Dr for 19 yrs. He stood over him in a long 16 hr surgery and made his spine much more suitable for breathing and sitting up. He saved him. Saved many. And he worked hard. And he's got a family too. Family that has some health struggles as well. He's an absolute hero to me.

Business response:

This is so amazing to hear! Thank you so much for sharing with us.

My 13 year old daughter slipped on ice and broke her tibia and fibula. She was rushed to childrens hospital. The next day I contacted Dr. Galpins office per my Instructions from hospital. She was seen the next business day. She fell on a Friday. I called on monday, she was seen tuesday. Now I read all the reviews on him. I was hesitant, BUT I was pleasantly surprised. Dr. Galpin is a master in his craft. Yes, he is cut and dry, straight to the point. He doesnt not sugar coat. My daughter had a horrific break. He performed op... read more

In March 2018 my 4 year old son broke his femur. My son and I were transported to Children's Hospital immediately. Upon arrival the staff responded with a great deal of compassion and hustled on getting him to where he needed to be. We were advised that Dr. Galpin and his staff would be providing my son with the care that was needed. The care that was provided by Dr. Galpin and his staff from the beginning and directly to end was TOP KNOTCH. I am thankful to everyone who was involved.
