Find yourself a doc that cares! She is RUDE, no bedside manner. Ordered tests for me and refused to speak to my insurance company to get tests covered. Staff called me and told me to get tests done so I did with the order she wrote for me.Found out after it wasn’t covered simply bc she refused to precertify me for said test that she ordered. Very dissapointing! She doesn't explain all details that you should know, did not spend time assisting in discharge information. I ended up in emergency for pain managment and she did not care, dismissive at all appointments following surgery
Was transferred to providence for an emergency appendectomy and dr. Orfanou was my surgeon. She did not explain the surgery never came to see me after spending three days in the hospital. I had zero information about my surgery and how it went. I saw her today and she was extremely dismissive she spent a total of two minutes with me and could really care less. She has a God complex and only cares about herself. Beware
Mixed experience. Seemed interested in my case but also extremely unwilling to help, given my health history. Did not listen well. She asked odd questions, including a query asking if I had ever been to a doctor, and later, how many years have I been fat. Strangest visit I have ever had. I'm seeking a second opinion!

Dr orfanou is an amazing surgeon . Had my thyroid out and put me at complete ease with it. Would go to her for any surgical procedure.
I was told by my GI doctor to contact Dr. Orfanou regarding an EGD capsule that appears to be stuck. My GI doctor seemed to think it could be removed via laparoscopic surgery. Almost immediately, Dr. Orfanou told me that I probably wouldn’t make it through surgery. She stated it was because I was full of adhesions from two previous surgeries. I've had 2 surgeries performed by Dr. Orfanou. A Gallbladder surgery in 2010 and Inguinal hernia in 2022. She’s an excellent surgeon. I highly recommend Dr. Orfanou.
