I went to Dr. McGonigle Friday for my one year follow up I would encourage anyone with knee issues to make an appointment with Bluegrass Orthopaedics! As one of the most caring professionals I have ever seen when he walked in the it was for me like seeing a friend as always he was very professional!! I was able to see the doctor within two hours of my initial call to make an appointment. Very professional staff and doctor. Explained in detail surgical and non-surgical options. I chose surgery. Was first seen on Friday with surgery scheduled the following Thursday. Amazing service which is very rare in today’s medical society. Extremely pleased!

He ordered an MRI of my pelvis. At my follow up, he led me to believe there was nothing wrong. Led me to believe my MRI was normal, told me there was nothing he could do, and sent me on my way. I continued to be in pain. I reached out to my PCP. My PCP’s office asked me to get copies of my records from Bluegrass Orthopedics, so I did. My MRI report shows small tears in my hamstring tendons. Dr. McGonigle did not inform me of this nor did he tell me what I could do for it. Just waived me off. I would not recommend him.

All care at BGO has been amazing. Dr. Mcgonigle did an outstanding job on my tibial plateau fracture. I had very little pain through the healing event and was stable very quickly. I would be very likely to recommend him and BGOs expertise.

This doctor took his time with me and listened. He explained my MRI to me and my options. He was friendly and professional. His assessment helped me make a hard decision. I highly recommend him.

As a nearly 30 year letter carrier my knees are in bad shape. Dr. McGonigle has taken the time to help me navigate the workers comp system. He compassionately listen to you and diagnoses your symptoms. I’ve seen many doctors due losing my wife to cancer. Many aren’t empathetic to the circumstances people deal with. I’ve seen multiple doctors at Bluegrass Orthopaedics and all are top notch. I highly recommend Dr. McGonigle. 

Getting New Knees

Dr McGonigle has been treating osteoarthritis in my knees. Extended my ability to continue working until recently. Dr McGonigle has provided the options I had available from day one. I believe he has been great with my treatment plan and only following options that are workable.Excellent explanations and answers questions in terms you can understand.I’ve had a previous surgery experience with Dr McGonigle and was very satisfied with a successful surgery and recovery.

Went for my post-op yesterday and again the entire Staff were friendly and professional at the same time!! My surgery was with Dr. McGonigle and I couldn’t have asked for a better Surgeon!! From start to finish he answered all of my questions and made me feel like I was his only patient (although I knew I wasn’t). Can’t say enough good things about Blue Grass Orthopaedics and thank you all again!!
