Dr Herrema is quite experienced and his evaluation of my hip pain was right on target. He provided a cortisone shot on first visit after in-house x-rays! All done on first visit with him. Much appreciated.
The office staff is always kind & friendly. Dr. Herrema is patient and answers any questions or concerns without feeling rushed.
This is an update to my original review post initial hip replacement several years ago. Dr. Herrema performed a replacement of my remaining hip shortly afterward and it was as successful as the first. I am 77 years old and I walk 4.5 miles each day all thanks to the best orthopedic surgeon ever.

His knowledge and friendliness got right to my knee problem and fixed it quick! After years of pain he scoped and cleaned a torn meniscus, I can’t thank him enough. Very quick and effective procedure.
I totally trust him. I think he is a great doctor! My only complaint would be that they would not give me enough pain meds after the surgery. I was already in pain in the recovery room. To me that is unacceptable. However, overall, I would give him 10 stars if that is possible. I am now under his care again for my other knee. I don't know other peoples stories, but I recovered totally from my knee replacement in 4 months! The key is to ice, ice, ice! Thank you Dr. Herrema, you are the best!
One of the best experiences I've ever had at a Dr.'s office! I was called in EARLY, about 20 minutes before my appt time, which is unheard of. The assistant and x-ray tech were great- friendly and knowledgable and Dr. Herrema was thorough and informative. I learned things about my shoulder that my previous Ortho doctor never even mentioned. Issues with my knees, finally replaced my partial with a full in 2020. Then, late 2021 I had my left knee replaced. The scar couldn't be any more straight! All has gone well, I have already recommended Dr. Herrema to many of my friends. Most of the staff has been great, just a few issues with trying to get a hold of a real person on the phone sometimes!
Dr. Herrema replaced my right knee in April and I could not be more pleased with the result. Everything done before, during and after my surgery was handled with kindness, consideration and the utmost professionalism. I feel like I have my quality of life back, ready to enjoy the rest of my retirement years. Thank you Dr Herrema and staff. Russell Reed
