I'm genuinely shocked to see these negative reviews. We had a fantastic experience with Dr. D. We went to see him after two miscarriages in a row, when I was severely depressed and at the end of my rope. Dr. D was reassuring, caring, and confident. I got pregnant quickly under his care with the right combination of medications. I was actually SAD to leave his practice and graduate to an OB-GYN. But, like other posters have mentioned, he's not going to blow smoke up your *ss. I wouldn't WANT a doctor who did this-- it would d... read more

I would not recommend this doctor because he doesn't have attention to details and people's feelings. After 3 unsuccessful IVF we have decided to go to another practice. The reason was that each time when Dr.D called to tell me about the the results he repeated the same 3 sentences he probably tells every patient: "I don't have good news, but we are in a very good position. Your embryos look good. Call us when your period starts to schedule the next appointment." And that's it! No explanations, no analysis... But we want ans... read more

I went to Dr. DiMattina in 2010 and got unusually bad news about my fertility (or lack thereof)--espcially considering that I was in my early-thirties. The fact that I got bad news has nothing to do with him. Anyway, although I held it together, his "bedside manner" was atrocious. At one point, he said "welcome to the human race." For a man, let alone your fertility doc, to say this is the height of insensitivity and arrogance. I also felt he was try to do a sales job on me to get me to do IVF, which I wanted and want nothin... read more

I have been a patient of Dr. D's for over 3 years. After going through 2 failed IVFs and one failed frozen IVF, my emotional state was indeed unstable. I can see why people might put Dr. D down when they are frustrated and hurt. We expect him to form miracles- but he is not God. He is a doctor with a vast amount of knowledge, who does his best for each individual case. I agree, he is not a hand-holding doctor, but will tell you the facts and loves the challenges that he may face (even though he may not always find an answer.... read more

Dr. DiMattina does not have his patients' interests in mind. In my case, he discouraged me from seeking treatment for an easily curable condition in order to push me towards IVF. In fact, he went as far as to claim that curing this condition was impossible despite the fact that all relevant studies and DiMattina's own book make clear that it is curable. This seems to have also been the case for a lot of the below commenters, who fall into two camps: (1) easy cases that were unnecessarily forced into IVF, thereby improving hi... read more

I'm so glad I found Dominion Fertility, natural cycle IVF was the only option for me and none of the clinics in my area would do it. Dr. DiMattina is very straight forward and he gets results.

Dr. DiMattina was arrogant, rude and impatient with questions--when he finished bragging about his results, he was done. He resisted explaining things and answering any questions. My consult with him was among the worst interactions I've ever had with a doctor.

I transferred to Dr. D earlier this year after a horrific experience with the "largest practice in the country". While I am not pregnant yet, I must say this experience is 3,000 times better. Dr. D. is a straightshooter, and although some times I wish he'd give me a lollipop after some of the bad news, in the end, I'd rather get it straight, promptly, and from him. Also, his staff is first rate, caring, responsive, and never makes you feel like you ask too many questions or are being too much trouble. If you want a doctor an... read more

Dr. DiMattina is great! I was very happy to find him after going to three other fertility centers in the area. Dr. DiMattina worked with us to define a treatment plan that we were comfortable with and that had a high probability of success. He is also the only RE in the area that offers natural cycle IVF. After 3 natural IVF cycles, only one of which ended up in an embryo transfer, I am in the early stages of pregnancy. I truly feel that Dr. DiMattina would go the extra mile to help us and that is very comforting. If you wan... read more
