The best of the best, Her and her staff, especially the front desk and Robert Dowell.
Will not return phone calls. Called for one month and left many messages - no return call. Looking for another family physician.
Long wait times: over one hour. Rarely get to see Dr Thakur. Very difficult to discuss lab results. Very unlikely or never get to see Dr Thakur if you are sick. Referrals are scheduled out of their Wartburg office and are very unlikely to occur. I waited 2 years once for a colonoscopy referral and would have waited 6 weeks this time had I not scheduled myself. I went in for specific health concerns and was referred out for pain, which I had not complained of at all. No longer my PCP
I really like Dr. Thakur; she's nice. However, her practice is run by Nurse Practitioners. Even if Dr. Thakur requests that you only see her, the office makes it difficult to do so. Do you want lab results? You'll probably have to call 2 weeks later for them; they'll forget. I have known them to charge $400 for a flu test that the urgent care charged $25 for. Lab work? They add 3 tests not asked for, or discussed, to pad the bill. Have an emergency? Good luck w/ the one on call calling you back.
Dr. Thakur takes the time to learn about all areas of your life that could be related to your health problems. Her Holistic approach to medicine is thorough and comforting. I couldn't think of a better Family Doctor than Dr. Manisha Thakur
Dr thakur very good doctor very thorough explain stuff like it should be good family doctor I would recommend her to anybody
I recently had my first appt with her. She is nothing short of amazing. I feel truly blessed to have found her. I've been dealing with a complex, misunderstood, chronic illness for almost 7 years. I've practically had to become my own doctor during this time. With Dr. Thakur, I finally feel like I have a doctor who is not only knowledgeable but extremely caring and compassionate. She spent more time with me than she should have listening to me. I feel like we will be a team led by her expertise.
My experiences with Dr. Thakur have all been most helpful==I have found her very responsive to hearing and responding to my concerns. She asks good questions and verifies that we both understand the problem and how to address it. She explains the use of medications, and basically how they work. She does not talk down to us but rather helps us to work together as part of a team to achieve and maintain the best health possible. She is genuinely caring and good about follow-up--highly recommend
