I initially was a patient of Dr Darlene Pierre. After she left the practice I selected Dr. Mustafa. I was very impressed with his expertise and intense knowledge. He listened to my concerns, presented several options and I was able to discuss all factors of each option with him. He shared his years of experience and speciality (knee replacement) and I felt very sure in trusting his recommendations. He’s awesome!
I chose Mustafa because he claims to care about his patients as family. It started out great. Had knee surgery on R knee when he said the L was worse???. A year after therapy and not being able to put pressure on knee, I had repeated appointments w the same issue. I was in severe pain for one year, unable to do stairs up or down. My last visit his remark was to “give myself 2-4 yrs and I should feel normal”!!! If that being the case why do surgery just keep giving me cortisone shots. Best surgery experience I ever had.. Dr Mustafa has the best pre and post skills as an Orthopedic doctor and would recommend him whole heartly to not just family but any one who needs joint replacements. I Love his work!!!!

Yes, Dr. Mustafa has treated my carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger thumb, knee with medial meniscus removed, and rotator cuff problem. I would highly recommend him. He was honest, straightforward, and kind, and dealt with my weird humor. I want to also recognize the office receptionist/secretary, Shelby Case. She went above and beyond in a way I have never encountered in my life, and I am older than dirt. Followed by Dr Mustafa for bilateral knee pain, he diagnosed need for knee replacements and took me through PT and meds (cortisone, NSAIDs,) before coming to surgery decision. Great bedside manner a very nice guy, totally transparent with information and answering your questions. I have a great outcome with my first knee, back to work in 6 weeks with great painless range of motion I hadn’t experienced in several years!
I was recommended by a family member and so glad I persued. Great bedside manners. Everything he told me up til the time of my hip replacement was true. I am so greatful for meeting and allowing him to perform his procedure great staff at DCH. I'd give Dr. Mustafa a 10+ that a bet.
Rating for Dr. Loi’y Mustafa Orthopedic Surgeon: I had an intense knee pain for two years. I struggled to walk to work and never slept at night. Dr. Mustafa examined me and did an x-ray in April 2019. He then informed me that my hip was arthritic, severely deteriorated, and told me that it was the source of my pain. My husband, Larry Slaughter first visited Dr. Mustafa in April 2019 for what he believed to be knee pain. After a thorough evaluation and xrays. The pain was diagnosed as a bad right hip. Surgery was necessary. Dr. Mustafa quickly assessed that my husband was in extreme pain and worked to expedite his surgery date. Surgery was scheduled for May 28th.
