Had cataract surgery and was very impressed. Highly organized and very knowledgeable stuff knowing what they are doing. Dr. Filutowski himself is excellent.
I went to this office for a cataract surgery. The first girl to see me was wonderful and warm. Next was the female doctor who was condescending, impatient and cold, asking me to decide what surgery I wanted right then and there. (?? I had NO IDEA?? Having Filutowski perform cataract surgery on my right eye was the biggest mistake I could have made! Surgery was performed 5/28/2013; and today (8/7/2013) I am still unable to focus. Per a highly qualified opthamologist, Filutowski would have avoided this fiasco if he had personally seen me, looked at my eye, and found the minor precaution he should have taken. My left eye has been done successfully by another doctor.
Staff was friendly and professional but they seem to have internal communication problems. After the first appointment, they asked me to return for another look. After the second appointment, they sent me to get the medications needed for post op ($150 with insurance.) The next week I drove the hour to Orlando and had to wait. After 20 minutes, they rechecked my vision again and insisted that I was not a candidate for Lasik. For such a big operation I was very disappointed. I was told I would be seen early yet was seen late. The girl couldn't answer my questions and just kept pushing the 100$ fee on me to get my eyes check to see if I could get lasik. Most places are doing this for free. Just seems like they want your money and they were over priced compared to the other quotes I got.
I get the feeling information is being kept from me regarding my eyes. I have the belief they made a mistake with my vision and are not saying anything. I was supposed to have my distance vision corrected. Instead, I have great close up vision and awful distance vision. Noone is saying anything. I have absolutely no confidence in Dempsy. Having LASIK with Dr. Filutowski and Dr. Dempsey was one of the greatest things that I have ever done! Prior to having LASIK, I wore glasses and contacts for almost 20 years. Having a pilots license, I know the importance of having good vision. The inconvenience of not being able to see the alarm clock without reaching for a pair of glasses, or worrying that I would lose a contact lens was always a worry. The best thing I have ever done for myself is having LASIK eye surgery with Dr. Konrad Filutowski and the Filutowski Cataract & LASIK Institute. My LASIK procedure took less than 10 minutes and, surprisingly, didn't hurt at all. I could see immediately after the procedure, and am to this date 20/20 and better.
