I previously sent a review in for Dr Price but I wanted to rave about the attention, service and professional attitude of the staff and nurses at Athens Orthopedics. I have been seeing Dr Price for over a year and have dealt with the staff on an ongoing basis. I can't say enough about the way I was treated and the attention to my needs. They were always available and ready to help in anyway they could. Thanks to all but especially to Lisa, Dr Price's nurse.
I had tried different avenues in order to alleviate my back pain. Dr Price was very thorough and explained my back problem. He never pushed surgery in fact he is very optimistic I will never need it. During my procedure he was very thorough and told me step by step what was being done. My recovery has been seamless and I am back to 100% and have regained quality of life. I can't thank Dr. Price and his staff for all they have done for me and my health.
I had a very painful experience. After trying all avenues, Dr. Price recommended surgery. Every aspect of the surgery was fully explained. On entering surgery, a large bone spur was found on S. The spur was removed, and repaired, disc were replaced at L-5 and L-4, two rods and 5 screws were used to repair damage. Dr price recommended physical therapy at home and at a facility near by. Each step was thorough and complete. Pain medication was phased completely out in about 4 to 5 months.
Dr. Price resolved a long lasting problem with a fusion of L-3-5. He expanses the situation and the best options to address the problem. I trust him and his decision making.
I consulted 2 surgeons on my back problem and went with Dr. Price because he took the time to explain in detail the problem and the recommended procedure. I didn't feel I was just another patient on his schedule. I has 4 screws, 2 rods and a disc put into L4 and L5. No more pain and after a week was walking 2 miles a day with no pain. It's been 2 months and no issues at all. His follow up has been exceptional. I would highly recommend him without hesitation.
The screw he put in my neck was too long and went through the back of my bone into my spinal cord? How does that happen? When I asked, I was told It shifted.... Would someone tell me how a threaded screw shifts? I asked that too - still no answer. All this means we had to do the same surgery twice. It's the human body, anything can happen and I know that -- but they handled me very poorly - the physician has not laid eyes on me since the surgery. Is that what you want in your surgeon?
During my first surgery, I had to be returned to the hospital for bleeding from the incision. Unfortunately, Dr. Price was asleep and could not be awakened. This is the only problem experienced with the exception that the procedure was not as successful as anticipated and results in additional surgery and fusion, along with its concomitant complications.
