He is HORRIBLE. I sent my husband for annual comprehensive check up. All he did is ask his assitant to take full mouth X-ray, then spend less than 1 minute checking my husband. I had root canal with him, and paid more than $1000. 1 month later, the gum turns into black, bleeding, and the tooth is still paining, I went back to visit, he said "everything is OK"...but I know it's not OK, this is not the first time of root canal and crown, but the gum is getting worse, and tooth pain is terrible! He is extremely expensive, alway... read more

I have Cigna's DHMO. He supposedly "accepts" my insurance. I had a root canal/crown from him. No problems w/the crown. No pain, but my root was dead so I wasn't expecting any. I paid ~ $1300. Six months later I visit his posh new office for a cleaning. I'm sure I have one cavity at least. The hygenist quickly tells me I'll need a deep cleaning because of pocketing. $400. I'll need to use special fluoride before hand. $80. She takes my xrays then and sends for the doc. The doc comes in, takes a quick look at my mouth and says... read more

He gets the job done, but not much more. The little things are missing at the office - no free toothbrush or floss, no reminder cards in the mail, not overly personal. Wouldn't imagine this would be a great place for kids. New office on Michigan avenue is a HUGE upgrade. Never had a problem with treatment or procedures, but they do seem anxious to get their money. I've also been told before that the doctor would call me in regards to treatment or procedure options, but it never happened. Overall, a very average dentist - no ... read more

Dr. Willerman has provided me with very good treatment for an inlay and periochip work for gingivitis. He has done very good work. I have been to many dentists (at least 8) and consider him one of the best that I have used. He does not seem overly expensive considering his downtown Chicago location. He does not appear to be friendly at first but after knowing him for a while find him a caring dentist. Office is barely functional and not elaborate but fine for me.

I have never had a bad experience here, but I am not sure if I get the best service. I had to switch dentists once I left my parents insurance and had to go to an HMO. I loved my childhood dentist as he was so friendly and was really good at what he did. This dentist seems to run in and run out and I am not sure if I trust his work yet.

Dr Willerman is a very nice man, but my concern was that not a good enough review was done of the condition of my gums and teeth. Sure enough, 2 months later after moving away from Chicago, the same intense pain has returned to my mouth after a $1200 treatment and a new inlay. Seems like he missed something big - very frustrating not to mention painful.

The customer service at Dr. Willerman's office is terrible. At my first appointment, my treatment was begun by a dental assistant who treated me in between calls to her boyfriend on her cell phone, which she took while she was in my treatment room. Both she and the male assistant were extremely curt and unfriendly. After I was given a shot of Novocain, the doctor presented me with a bill that was quite a bit more than the estimate he'd provided a few minutes earlier, and was really unpleasant when I asked about payment optio... read more

I thought the office was nice and the staff was nice as well. Dr. Wilderman was proposing that I have three dental inlays. this would total to approximately $2200. He did fully explain why I needed these and I did understand why he thought i needed the inlays and it made sense. Through the process I did feel a little uncomfortable because I felt that i was being sold to, I don't want to feel that when I am visiting a dentist. I put a call into my childhood dentist and I was told to get a second opinion. I am working on that ... read more

The staff was friendly and so was the dentist. He gave me a list of fees that I would have to pay for future work that needed to be done on my teeth. Overall, my experience was ok, but it wasn't the best practice I've been to.
