This is not a medical office, but rather a high-volume, big-profit business. Impossible to see a doctor so you land up seeing inexperienced techs. They are not very knowledgeable and the doctor, when she "checks in" for a minute for insurance purposes only, is brusque, disinterested and rushed. No help or answers beyond the basics. Sleep study done in an austere business environment. As I said, this is a lucrative business more than a medical practice!
Dr. Emsellem is highly knowledgeable, and in one visit created a treatment plan that resolved a medical issue that two other sleep specialists had failed to address effectively . It is true that her office staff is, for the most part, maddeningly incompetent. I wish that were not the case, but the doctor is so skilled that I will put up with her staff to have access to her medical expertise.
In my opinion, as based on several appointment with Dr. Emsellem, I found her to be quite impatient and rather abrasive. She communicated with her own staff in an equally terse manner.
Most frustrating medical front office staff I have experienced. If you are willing to accept that patient care is a distant third (behind the staff's convenience and the practice's rules) and don't expect to be treated with respect or consideration (or treated like an adult), this is the practice for you! Appointments require a lead time of 5-12 months and are routinely cancelled (my last three). I spent 2.5 hours in traffic, arrived 25 minutes late (after calling repeatedly) and was not seen.
