Dr. Emsellem is one of the best doctors I've ever had. She goes above and beyond to care for her patients. She is really responsive and cares about my overall wellbeing as a person. Our treatment plan keeps in mind my lifestyle, and she wants to ensure that I don't have to compromise on my goals because of my sleep condition. She is very knowledgeable about idiopathic hypersomnia, having been involved in a lot of the research. I appreciate that she's not afraid to admit when she doesn't know something (not often). When she i... read more

Dr Emsellem acts rude and dismissive and treats her staff extremely poorly.

I came for a sleep study to determine if I had sleep apnea. At intake, I said I usually awaken after a few hours sleep but fall back to sleep by watching a darkened TV screen at low volume. They said they wouldn't permit them and I said I'd likely remain awake. That is exactly what happened after 2 hours sleep. No apnea was reported but the doctor was fixated on my insomnia, and prescribed strong sleeping pills. I told her I didn't feel that I had that problem that I managed it well and got about 7 hours of sleep at home. I ... read more

The office is the most unhelpful office I’ve ever encountered, which is impressive considering I am managing healthcare for both my parents and have also seen several sleep doctors myself. The encounter I had with the doctor herself was unpleasant, she was very condescending and borderline rude. She has managed to miss some critical health issues for my family members, so I can’t even say that dealing with the office was at all worth it. The only person in that whole office that is kind and normal is Keta, the prescription m... read more

My husband and I have been patients of Dr Emsellem's group for many years. While individuals who work administratively are good, the system that is in place is terrible. I have tried for a month to get a new prescription for supplies to a new provider (from my old one) to no avail. This office is understaffed and has a poorly designed answering service. You have to sit through listening to info on the Phillips recall each time you call, instead of what I get from a different organization to "press x" if I want to bypass the ... read more

After I was tested at her clinic, she reported—and fully explained to me—what I already suspected, that I suffered from severe sleep apnea. Her staff then got me started using a CPAP machine for good sleep every night. My wife is especially happy, not only because my sleep is healthful but because my loud snoring stopped immediately and has never returned over the past four years.

I am a former patient who received an email last night from Dr. Emsellem that my Phillip's C-PAP machine (DreamStation) has been recalled. The email included a hyperlink to register my current machine and, hopefully, make arrangement to receive a replacement which I urgently need. Unfortunately, the on-line registration link would not allow me to register as a "patient." Whenever I clicked on "next" to proceed with the registration process, I would received a red error message. I then tried to call Phillips and was told by a... read more

Dr. Emesellem called me for my first appointment with her with 35 minutes delay and didn't even apologized for it. She immediately started talking about her great she was perhaps to make me feel privileged that she called me at all. Then for the follow-up appointment, she had one of her assistants to call me 2 days before to ask if I could have the call with her earlier than originally scheduled. I changed another business appointment in order to accommodate her request. However, at the day/time of the appointment she didn't... read more

I tried for years to get a diagnosis and treatment for a neurological disorder that had been diagnosed incorrectly as Parkinson's disease. Dr. Emsellem alone was able to correctly diagnose and treat my disorder. As a consequence, I have been able to live a normal life. She's an amazing doctor who is as smart and compassionate as they come. She is dedicated to helping people. I would give her 10 stars if I could.
