Dr. Mathys explained every step of the process, and there were no surprises. I had to have gum grafting and a fifth wisdom tooth extracted. He offers IV sedation at his practice, so this made a seemingly daunting surgery manageable and as pleasant as be. It really alleviated my fears going forward with any dental procedures I have in the future. He is very detail oriented, professional and compassionate.
Dr. Mathys severed two nerves in my face after doing an implant and several bone grafts and I suffered in pain for three years with him not believing my pain and him doing 9 unneccessary surgeries. I ended up having to have a MAJOR surgery to fix all the damage he did.
Dr. Mathys is an exemplarye periodontist. He has performed two major operations , both were enormously successful. His staff is completely competent, friendly and professional. My procedures were totally pain free, and I was fully aware of every aspect of the process. Dr. Mathys' strategy was inclusive and consultative; i knew exactly what the expectations were. I fully recommned Dr. Mathys as a periondtist/surgeon.
Dr. Mathys is a wonderful surgeon and dentist. He and his staff are solicitous and mindful that these procedures are not always pleasant for the patient. I have had 5 implants, bone graft and sinus lift in the past 4 years, all unqualified successes. Costly yes but worth it. I highly reccomend Mathys to anyone in the Denver area.
Dr. Mathys used poor judgement in attempting to place an implant. After a very painful bone graft procedure and evidence of a dying adjacent tooth, Dr. Mathys placed grafing material into the infected tissure. This created a failed very expensive graft and lead to loss of the dying tooth. Poor judgement. Dr. Mathys was very uncooperative in sharing information and xrays with other dentists involved in my treatment. Dr. Mathys seems to be more concerned with cash flow than patient treatment.
