I went to Dr. Borenstein for bioidentical hormone treatment and no other medical issues. Nevertheless, he told me that my adrenal function had flat-lined, which would cause chronic fatigue. I had no fatigue, but his diagnosis scared me enough to go along with his treatment. Not surprisingly, Dr. Borenstein promotes and sells Adren-all and Adrene-Vive. I can't say enough about how much Dr. Borenstein and PRP Prolotherapy has changed my life. I have been putting off having total knee replacement in both knees for several years. For the past year I've been wearing knee braces all day, stopped working out, and had been walking up and down the stairs sideways. I went to dr borenstein feeling bad, no energy , being told by my physicians this is way it is & will be seeing no problem with my blood results, after borenstein repeated my tests he found problems . after his treatment plan I have improved greatly!!!! very happy with results !!!!
My third visit was all of about 4 minutes. I now know that the anti fungal Borenstein prescribed can damage the liver - though he gave me no warning when prescribing it. I wanted him to look at my bloodwork showing elevated liver enzymes, but he wasn't interested in seeing it. I would think a doctor would be concerned if they prescribed a medication known to cause liver issues and a test showed elevated enzymes, but not Dr. Borenstein. Dr. Borenstein is a very knowledgeable and compassionate doctor. He helped heal my hypothyroidism and I am very happy to be under his care.
Had a long first appointment that was very thorough. He clearly knows his stuff and I would absolutely like to work with him. All in all, I was very happy until I went to schedule my next appointment and was told I would need to wait 2 months+ to see him again. As anyone who has been in my shoes (thyroid, hormone issues) can attest, waiting several months to follow-up and get the results of your bloodwork is unacceptable. Dr. Borenstein has helped me tremendously. I had been to many doctors who would take a simple TSH test, and send me away telling me "you're fine". But the fact was, I was exhausted, losing my hair, gaining weight and very depressed. I went to Dr. Borenstein for exhaustion, lack of energy, stamina and sleep. I could not concentrate, was constantly depressed and just miserable. I found Dr. Borenstein to be extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He explained why I was feeling the way I was and ran many tests. I will agree with most of the other comments on the web about Dr. B. He is super helpful in treating thyroid disorders, which is truly the most important thing. His front office staff definitely leaves A LOT to be desired, though. He definitely delves much deeper than any other endo I've been to in the past 20 years who just run very basic blood work and say take some synthroid and see you in six months leaving me with SO many other unresolved issues.
