I visited Dr. Borenstein on 3 occasions and decided to discontinue his "endocrinology" support. He comes up on Functional Medicine searches but he does not practice this approach. Dr. Borenstein sets eyes on your test results for the first time when you are sitting in front of him. He does not take insurance, only private pay. Most doctors who take private pay do so because they want to spend their time researching their patients, and not on the phone with insurance carriers. Not so with Dr. Borenstein. He does not appear to... read more
After over a year of not receiving optimal treatment I was ready to get better and came in to see Dr. Borenstein. He asked a series of questions while reviewing my papers. He was very confident that he could help. He switched my medicine to nature-throid and gave me some adrenal support supplements and an order for bloodwork. I left feeling cautious but hopeful. My husband and I couldn't believe the difference! Within two weeks I was making my way back emotionally and physically to my old great self! It felt so good that I w... read more
I was diagnosed with hashimotos disease 3 1/2 years prior to finding Dr. Borenstein. I was under the care of an endocronologist who would only treat by labs numbers, not by symptoms. I was suffering on a daily basis with symptoms such as: exhaustion, brain fog, weight gain, chronic pain, numbness, tingling, hair loss, irregular cycles... The list just goes on. The endo denied that my symptoms were thyroid related. I was beginning to lose hope of ever feeling well. I had my first appointment with Dr. Borenstein in May of 2013... read more
I am ambivalent about this MD. I have hashimotos and was not improving on Levothyroxine. He was impatient, borderline rude, kept interrupting me and seemed annoyed when I asked a question. He said, I was getting to that. He barely looked at my labs and then gave me naturethroid and adrenal supplements and then got out of his chair and escorted me to the door. Second time, when I came back in with all my blood work with a lot of markers out of normal range, he didn't even discuss these with me. Also when I asked him why blood... read more
My mother and I traveled from another country to see this doctor to help treat my thyroid disease, and paid an enormous amount in cash for his visit and supplements. I was so disappointed. He spent very little time with me, did not go over all the results of my lab tests, and prescribed me the same treatment he offers to everyone else. When I wasn't getting better, in fact felt worse, and relayed this to him over our subsequent phone consultation, he got angry and impatient and simply increased the dosage of the medicine I w... read more
I took my mother to see him for her thyroid nodules problem. I wanted to help her get a better solution so I found him online and wanted to try him despite the high rate he charges. The whole thing about how he's very patient to understand his patients on his website was such a lie. The whole appointment did not even take 10 mins. All he did was look at the lab work and ultrasound scan we brought and decided to prescribe her a thyroid hormone. He didn't really tried to understand what's causing her problem. He was very rushe... read more
For decades following a thyroidectomy, I was on synthetic thyroid. My previous endocrinologist tested TSH only, and based on that steadily reduced my dosage over the course of 5-6 years, even though I had low energy, slow digestion, dry skin, frequent dizziness, and the infamous "brain fog." At the recommendation of a friend who'd had thyroid problems, I looked for a physician willing to prescribe Armor thyroid, and found Dr. Borenstein. At my first visit, he took 45 minutes to ask me about my symptoms, then put me on medica... read more
I’m 31 years old and have been recently diagnosed with MS. I was having a difficult time finding a doctor who would put me on an LDN treatment let a long one who even knows about this drug. Thank God I lucked out and found Dr. Borenstein. I was instantly comfortable with his enthusiasm about my treatment and well being. Once on the LDN I started to feel so much better however I still experienced some numbness on the right side of my body. On my second visit we spoke about my numbness and he tested me for several food allergi... read more
Dr. Borenstein was very helpful with my hypothyroidism, adrenal fatigue, and hormone imbalance. After seeing a number of doctors previously and still having symptoms I found Dr. Borenstein. His approach was progressive and effective. He did a comprehensive evaluation, answered my questions, and recommended supplements and medication. There was no pressure to purchase supplements from him and he was fine with me buying them elsewhere. I feel so much better and am very grateful.
