After having a colonoscopy, I was referred to Dr. David Rivadeneira, to remove a polyp and both internal and external hemorrhoids. Dr. Rivadeneira was very thorough while explaining what the surgery would entail and also what to do during my recovery period. Just three weeks since the procedure I am back to doing every day activities as if the surgery happened months ago. I would definitely recommend Dr. David Rivadeneira, to anyone looking for a doctor who specializes in this field.
After years of dealing with hemorrhoids, my gastroenterologist recommended that I see Dr. Rivadeneira. At my initial appointment, he examined me to find several hemorrhoids and a rectal collapse that needed repaired. Dr. Rivadeneira was recommended to me after I was diagnosed with a hole in the intestines that initially was healed with antibiotics. I met with him and he explained why I should have the surgery, how it would be done and insisted I have it done sooner then later. He was very kind, caring and reassuring. I was admitted to the Huntington Hospital, NY emergency room on 1/20/2020 with a severely enlarged colorectal abscess; it was so enlarged and painful, it was very difficult to sit. Dr. Rivadeneira was the on call colorectal surgeon. He arrived quickly, immediately diagnosed the condition and severity and then surgically drained the abscess. Dr. Rivadeneira is knowledgeable and amazingly friendly. I have suffered with hemorrhoids for years. Had banning by mutilable doctors ( which was painful). For the last year I have been treated by Dr R. I was sent to him for hemorrhoid surgery. He advised me to try the banning a bit more and lets see what results we get before jumping into surgery. His approach made a lot of sense to me and the results are amazing. I am 100% free of the hemorrhoid issue and his banning was painless. I highly recommend him

Dr. Rivadeneira is a true professional. He makes you feel very comfortable in an uncomfortable place. Three of my family members go to him. I personally had the rubber band ligation done for internal hemmorhoids. Went so fast, was barely uncomfortable. I went a second time... same thing. Not a big deal. I feel so much better.
Dr. Rivadeneira is the BEST!! He performed laparoscopic colon resection surgery & all went great, and I have not felt this good in years. He is tops in his field and is caring and has a great bedside manner. I cant recommend him enough. His staff is amazing, and his surgical team made me feel so comfortable. Dr. "Riva" is amazing! Firstly, he made me feel so at ease in his office. I had rectal bleeding so I finally decided to see a doc. Dr. Riva took a look and said that I had internal hemorrhoids that were causing the problem. He said that he could correct the problem with a rubber band, that would be placed at the base of the hemorrhoid. This would choke the hemorrhoid, shrink it, and it would fall off in a few weeks. It was painless, and it worked perfectly. No blood since. I feel so much better
