Unbelievably good experience. As much as woman dread to go to the OBGYN Dr McCraven makes you comfortable, and is genuine. Her staff too is sweet and understanding. I feel like I am in excellent hands. Thank you!!!
Dr.McCraven needs to work on her delivery of information to her patients.She scared me into thinking a VBAC was a terrible choice for myself and my family, urging me to schedule a c section.She said the only person she would recommend to do a Vbac was a patient who had a previous vaginal delivery.I had to switch providers at 32 weeks pregnant because she made me so upset.I ended up having a successful, unmedicated, VBAC at yale. My entire labor was 3.5 hours and I did not have to be induced.
Dr. McCraven has been my doctor for over 20 years, She performed my c-section and at one time took me in same day for abdominal pain. So the fact that she knows my history, listens to my complaints AND answers them says a lot. The only complaint I have is that there's always a long wait for appointments, scheduling and to be seen. With me, she has a fair amount of humor as well.
My gynecologist doesn't deliver so I went to her for my first pregnancy. If I didn't self educate on everything I would have been taken full advantage of. She has zero bedside manner and treats you like a test subject. I get it, I'm pregnant, but when someone tells you that you may want to terminate your pregnancy due to Factor XI deficiency (Google it) you know something's wrong. She kicked me out for refusing SUGGESTED testing at 30 weeks pregnant, it was SUCH a relief getting a new doctor.
I've been going to her for years but finally had to switch to another OB in the same office. She is knowledgeable BUT beware, not knowledgeable in everything she tells you and I've learned the hard way that she has the the tendency to scare the crap out of your over nothing. She also tries to push Cell Free DNA testing. I just couldn't handle her overly cautious ways. She always running late too and can make you feel she's in a rush to get to next apt.
Dr. McCraven has been my physician for 28 years. She is everything one expects in a physician; competency, dedication, compassion and expertise in her field.
Dr. McCraven did my hysterectomy and she made it the most pleasant experience ever in the hispital. The suevery was explained in detail and my recovery time was great. She's very personable and truly cares about her patients well-being. She is a very popular physician in her practice which does sometimes explain the periodoc long wait time, but if she wasn't good at her job she wouldn't be in such a high demand for her.
