My first visit, I did not want to go however, if I need surgery I will see Dr. Mazahery
IMHO he saved my life. Excellent diagnostician and outstanding surgeon. From barely being able to walk, I placed my trust in Dr. M.: Cervical surgery and 2 lumbar surgeries put me on track to recover my mobility. He is a straight-shooter; direct and comprehensive and provided excellent recovery and outcome.

I had been suffering from debilitating pain before I saw Dr. Mazahery. I had been to a local urgent care who said I “just”had a spasming muscle and visited an er who was slightly dismissive with my concerns and pain. It wasn’t until I got to Reston Hospital and finally felt like I was getting help. When I sat down with Dr. M, he walked me through my test results showing me where the problems were. I had a back procedure with dr Mazahery that had kept me from living a comfortable life. I had been very apprehensive about any surgery and he explained every detail of the surgery and never once pushed me into making a decision. When I decided to go ahead…I had all the confidence he would do the best job he ever had and that’s exactly what he did. He was highly recommended to me and I’d happily return the recommendation to anyone with an orthopedic problem where surgery has been recommended or contemplated. Dr Mazahery was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable! For an orthopedic surgeon to tell you - “if any doctor mentions surgery to you - run the other direction; your problem cannot be corrected surgically,” instills a trust like no other. Dr. Mazahery is compassionate, caring, trusting, candid, states the facts. A good man and outstanding surgeon.
Dr Mazahery is a straight forward professional, tells you like it is, recommends treatment that best suited for your needs. I have seen him separately for both neck and lower back issues. Highly recommend him.
Dr. Mazahery listened and made sure all my post-surgical issues were addressed, including a brace for my tennis elbow that another Dr. in his office was seeing me about. I am delighted with his care during surgery and the past six months.
