Be very cautious of paying this doctor any money without first contacting your insurance company and confirming what is actually due this specific doctor. If an overpayment is made, he will not make a refund. His office is even ignoring calls from my insurance company, United Health Care.
After my initial visit with this doctor I was told that he wanted to see me in one week for field of vision testing. This being a new doctor to me I agreed and returned to the office a second time for testing. During the second visit I asked why this second visit was necessary for field of vision testing because ophthalmologists I had seen in the past 20 years had done all testing in one visit. I advised this office up front that I did not have a co-pay for eye doctor visits, they were insistent that I pay or I could not see the doctor. I paid the fee and had 3 subsequent visits within a very short time period, each of which they charged a fee for. After benefit statements were received and confirmed “no co-pay”, I contacted the office for a refund. Be cautious of the billing practices, especially if on Medicare. You will not get a response to questions from the staff or receive refunds due to you for overcharges. Dr. Economou doubled his rates to over $600 in 2020 for the exact same services given in 2019, i.e., the optic nerve scan and general eye exam and did not spend any additional time. He also requires you pay the entire Medicare deductible upfront.
Good Lord I’ve no words to thank you for saving mommas vision. Grateful for your knowledge, skill, wonderful staff and your medical director taking time to drive to their home to drop off medication. You are amazing.

excellent doctor and medical director. In Tulsa from Dallas, my husband had a medical emergency tonight with his eyes. My sister called her Glaucoma doctor, Dr. Economou. His medical director returned our call in minutes this evening. She arranged for us to be seen tonight at Dr. Economou's office, was remarkably full of knowledge, explained everything in detail. A+. Best Dr. we've ever seen. His staff and medical director are very helpful, well educated and knowledgeable. We wouldn't trust any other Dr. with our eyes.Medical Director seems to do it all. She performed 2 test on husband, processed our insurance, copied our records, assisted the Dr., and even cross referenced all my husbands medications. They don't make them like her anymore.
