we Love this place great customer service, great surounding, great food. we go back as much as we can.
Whenever a Mexican Restaurant has Caldo de Rez (Mexican beef and vegetable soup)on the menu, I order it over anything else. The soup was very flavorful, with the carrots and zuchinni were cooked to tenderness. The shank meat was cooked to where you could separate pieces with a spoon. This soup was one of the best I have ever tasted.

I love the artichoke enchiladas! I travel ALL THE WAY FROM SAN JOSE just to get these enchiladas!! I also take an order for mom! They are super flavorful, yum!
Never had I had such horrible Mexican food... I am hardly ever rude..But this is just how bad it was. Not their Chile Verde, the rice, beans, taco, enchilada, chicken burrito or 7mares. I tried everyones plate & absolutely NOTHING hit the spot!! So disappointed. The tamales was okay...that cause it tasted like a microwaveable one.
Best Mexican Restaurant around. I live in Salinas and can honestly say Dona Esther's is the best Mexican restaurant around. I love their enchiladas and burritos and love love love their Sunday buffet. Good food. Good price. Friendly Service. Nuff said.
Absolutely delicious!!! We have gone several times and everything has been fantastic. The things we have tried are the taco salad, chimichanga, enchiladas and nachos. All of them are phenom! :)
best beans in bay area hands down. best chicharrones in bay area hands down i eat mexican food all over the bay, and this place, albeit a bit drab inside, does the trick. my father in law, from a small town in mexico, claims this is some of the closest to home food he has had in the states
My family absolutely loves Dona Esther! We travel from Morgan Hill usually once a week to enjoy the food and friendly service. We have been loyal customers for years. We always take out of town visitors there and it is always requested by return visitors. The building may not be new but who cares when you get the mexican food around. We are forever patrons of this restaurant.
