Love this place! I go there and eat at least two times when I visit Greenville. The tamales and steaks are literally legendary!
Best steak I’ve EVER had anywhere. The old building adds to the “divey” charm of the place, as does entering they the kitchen where the 1100-degree broiler sears steaks to perfection. There’s no menu, but waitresses can recite it from memory. If you’re looking for the steak house mahogany of a Peter Luger or white linen fine dining, this is not your place. If you want a great steak and atmosphere, go to Doe’s!!

I've eaten at this location twice and this will be the last. I've also eaten at Doe's in Little Rock several times and been very satisfied. I got the Porterhouse and it was cooked correctly, but had little flavor and rather tough. Also, the way they cook their steaks is high heat as the steak drippings collect in a pan underneath. They then pour the dripping over the top of the steak when served.
