As first timers in the Orange beach area, we spotted Doc's and decideded it was a Local's place to eat. The service was good and food was good. I was a little disappointed that the only fish available was fresh water fish. If you want shrimp or oysters this is a good stop. I'll go back, I just won't expect any saltwater fish.

No view and kind of dumpy dated interior. Definitely not "the world's best fried shrimp" as advertised. Atmosphere was like any "family style" restaurant. Nothing tropical or beachy as expected. Definitely a restaurant for locals, not vacationers if you are looking for surfside beachy atmosphere. Disappointingly bland in every aspect actually.
The food was incredible! I ordered the large fried shrimp plate! The portion was plenty and actually had more shrimp than I did fries! Hush puppies and cole slaw and you mix your own cocktail sauce at the table! If I ever get down this way again I will eat there again! Most important part, the wait staff is incredible as well! If you find yourself in the Orange Beach area and are looking for dang good food with a down home atmosphere, then Doc's is the place!
