Popular for Asian fusion at shoestring prices, this trendy spot blends elements from the cuisine of many Asian nations to produce a truly unique menu. The noodle soups and mixed Asian pastas are great, or try one of several cabbage wraps or the Chinese scallion pancakes as an appetizer. Don't let the crowd scare you away; the line moves quickly. The cozy interior features tiny tables arranged with little elbowroom. For more space, wait a few minutes for a seat on the elevated patio that looks out over Highland Avenue. Check ... read more

Adequate – Food was satisfactory, but don't waste your money on the teas. I ordered a veggie noodle dish which was low on veggies but very generous with the noodles. The entrees overall appeared to be served in large portions.
User review by glynn117 – We're new in the area and had heard good things about this restaurant. Big mistake, one of our worst Asian meals ever!
Great little place – The food is good, fresh and simple. The portions are generous to your stomach and wallet. The patio is great in the spring and fall. It can be a little loud at times but the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. The wait staff and hostess are apathetic at times but sometimes you luck out on their good day.
Great Noodles – Ok, so Doc Shey's may not be the most authetic Thai dining experience in town, but where you can eat good food for under $10 a person?! This place is adroable. They have a great patio area to sit on too.
Bravo – Ultra large portions that taste great on a student's budget. Leaves plenty of $ 4 U 2 tip the servers well :)
What's so great about this place? – I was stunned to learn that this place has made one of the top 10 Citysearch Vote. Not to mention, in Thai food category?!!??? C'mon guys, if anyone has ever had authentic Thai food before in his/her life, he/she would never go to this place and rank it as such. I couldn't care less if it was voted one of the best whatever food, but please, not Thai.
Good food, cheap prices! – I've been coming to Doc Chey's for years. I was quite disappointed when the franchise near me closed, so my husband and I ventured back to the Highlands to the original. Our meal did not disappoint. Doc Chey's is not gourmet food, but it has always been very good. We started with the edamame, our traditional appetizer. It was good, but the soybeans were a bit too soft. They were not as snappy as usual. I had the Chinese Lo Mein with steamed tofu, which was quite good. The sauce has always been one ... read more
not authentic enough – We ordered noodles and chicken dishes, spring rolls. It appeared that the ingredients were dumped in sauce and heated for a minute because the taste of sauce was not integrated into the meat or vegetables. Also, the sauces taste like the ones that you get at a grocery store, which is why i feel that the food lacks authenticity.
Americanized noodle shop hits it big in Morningside with affordable, large portions. – The Scene This popular neighborhood noodle shop makes a name for itself in the restaurant-heavy Highlands-Morningside area. Its menu of low-priced options appeals to the younger crowd who rents around here. Endearing in a slightly beat-up kind of way, Doc Chey's features a fun patio, plus functional community seating inside. Service is basic, sometimes friendly. The Food Ultra-cheap and just exotic enough, this noodle shop specializes in A... read more
