The DiMillo family has been serving fine food in Portland since Tony DiMillo opened his first restaurant, "Anthony's," in 1954. In 1982, "DiMillo's Floating Restaurant" opened her doors and became the only floating restaurant on the upper East Coast. Today, Tony's family continue to maintain the high standards he established over 50 years ago.

I had a horrible experience at Scales with our group of 24. We were all in town for the USS Mertz WW2 Navy ship reunion. Scales has yet to make it right!! On 10/1/2017, just hubby and I decided to try Dimillo's our 40th ( 9/30 )... They were fantastic.... I wanted a fried fish sandwich and hubby wanted lobster.... They said if we would sit in the bar area instead of in the dining room, they could make that happen. THEY DID!! We had a lovely table by a window and could see the water and yachts... Truly have always enjoyed Dimillo’s food & ocean front scenery. Although, I’m not sure how they can ruin Lobster & butter. However, Service has always been hit or miss. Today... was a miss. First our waitress took her time coming over. When she did... she gave us water & menus but never took our drink order until she came back for food order. We enjoyed our lunch....again. Our server Casey was wonderful. By the way, our first date (my now husband and myself), was there at Dimillos. We were enjoying our evening, looked up and the staff was waiting for us. We closed the place that night. That was 33+ years ago. Thank you Diana and Charlie Audette.
