The DiMillo family has been serving fine food in Portland since Tony DiMillo opened his first restaurant, "Anthony's," in 1954. In 1982, "DiMillo's Floating Restaurant" opened her doors and became the only floating restaurant on the upper East Coast. The staff was exceedingly rude. I normally give restaurant staff the benefit of the doubt. However, after waiting 50 mins to just get a cocktail and having others be seated and served before our party, not this time. Pretentious and overpriced, this place does not care about their customers because they are tourists and gone tomorrow. We ended up walking out.
Was told 20 minutes, which turned into 45. Thats fine things happen. However there were only 8 people upstairs on the deck so not sure what the problem was.. As we go to get seated I asked for a table in the sun and she attempted to seat us at a table in the shade right next to an empty table in the sun..Finally get seated only to wait longer and watch another table get their drink order taken that was seated after us. Thats annoying. Only wanted a drink in the sun not a 50 minute wait. Not recommended for the hassle plenty ... read more
We had an awesome experience tonight. This is our first time in Portland, and my fiancé's first time in Maine. We couldn't have picked a better spot for dinner and drinks. Stephanie, our waitress, was incredible. She had a sparkling personality, and was just a pleasure to spend our evening with. I am allergic to gluten, which makes eating out stressful as can be. Stephanie was knowledgable, patient, and helped me figure out what was the best option for me to order. The meal was awesome, the views were awesome, and the restau... read more
My favorite restaurant in portland..maybe anywhere! :) the view is awesome..the food..drinks and service has always been great. The lobster mac and cheese is the best!
Both my husband and I got the lobster meals and it was delicious. If I ever make it to Maine again, if definitely go back!
You can't take reservations on a Saturday? If we walk in you can seat us? We are a large party of locals who want to celebrate a graduation but you expect us to take chances? Thanks for nothing.
Fast friendly service with good food! Highly recommend the crab cakes and clam chowder!
I had a cider brined chicken which was fabulous! Topped it off with a warm bread pudding and bourbon sauce! Yum!
From the moment we stepped off the gangway and boarded Portland's only floating restaurant and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff at the front desk, we felt that a pleasurable dining experience awaited us. Indeed it did, the Fisherman's Platters and Sauteed Mussels were superb, with copious amounts of warm bread and real butter served with the Mussels. The view from Dimillo's is unparalleled, and although we opted for the lounge...Dimillo's also offers a freshly renovated main dining area that absolutely deserves... read more
