Avoid this dermatologist. Dr. Nims to be exact. My 14 yr old daughter was referred to this dermatologist due to me changing duty stations. She was previously on accutane at her previous dermatologist. They gave her a break and said they would start it back if her acne comes back. Dr. Nims tried to put my child on birth control I said no and I told her I declined it already from 1 out of the 5 dermatologist that my daughter has seen. I had a good overall experience at Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery Group of Northern Virginia, PLLC. I saw Dr. Nimms for a skin evaluation, and everything was handled professionally and efficiently. I returned about three weeks later for a biopsy, and the process was smooth and well-explained. I received my results a couple of weeks afterward with clear communication. No complaints — solid care and service from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Below standard care. No doctor/patient relationship attempts, over years. Routing calls to answering service every morning and randomly during business hours - and they won’t take messages. Answer service woman is plain rude and condescending. Difficult to cancel appointments. So glad I found a better option in Fairfax.
