We had been going to Delaware Eye Care Ctr. for more than 15 years. Their doctors and staff were always good until we encountered Dr.Timothy Doyle. He was rude and refused to refill my prescription medication that had been working fine and tried to prescribe something else. Then he misdiagnosed my wife saying she had Glaucoma which was never substantiated by further testing.. .

I did not have a good experience recently as a new patient at the DE Eye Care Center in Newark. My appointment time was 10:10 AM; my name was called 30 minutes later. I was shuffled from one technician to another, the second of whom curled her eyelashes while waiting for my eyes to dilate. (I am an RN and if I conducted myself in this manner while providing patient care I wouldn’t have a job.) My prescription for contact lenses and eyeglasses was determined by one of the technicians (I was not seen by an optometrist, which is of concern to me). An ophthalmologist checked the health of my eyes, but did not double-check my vision to ensure the accuracy of the prescriptions I received. When I questioned him about this, he stated that the techs are well-trained on the job and that my prescriptions "looked fine" (I don’t think he looked at them honestly). I don’t know how on-the-job training can replace years of training to become a D.O. Overall, I am disappointed in my experience and do not plan to return to this center, after all, there are many other (better) options out there. I sent them this letter and did not receive a response.
